Orkney Shore |
|||||||||
This painting was inspired by a trip to the Orkney Islands, laying off the northern shore of the Scottish mainland. The mornings here were cool and the air heavy with moisture. Thunderous waves broke like thunder and with every recession there arose a deep rumbling. This was the sound of fist-sized rocks or better cascading back and forth underwater over this rockbound coast. If the world was flat then this would be an edge. Oil on masonite, 18 x 24".
