Paracyclotosaurus davidi
Paracyclotosaurus davidi

Discovered in Australia, Paracyclotosaurus davidi was a large (2.25m) prehistoric amphibian loosely resembling today's salamander. An aquatic specie, it probably spent most of its time in water waiting for unwary fish to come within reach, where it then could suck them in by simply opening its wide jaws underwater. Middle Triassic (235 MYA). Piece created as part of an illustration portfolio of dinosaurs and other prehistoric animals.
