Pterosaur sp. |
|||||
Pterosaurs were prehistoric flying reptiles that ranged in size from a few inches to 40 feet. They were lightly built with hollow bones and small bodies. Some like Pteranodon had bony crests on their skulls that may have acted as a rudder when flying and or as a display of sexual characteristic. Pterosaurs could flap their wings and fly with power, but the largest ones probably relied on updrafts and breezes. Triassic-Cretaceous (235- 66 MYA).
