Plesiosaurs were large marine reptiles that lived at the same time as dinosaurs. A typical plesiosaur had a long neck, broad body, four large flippers and a relatively short tail. Movement is thought to be a wing like flying motion through the water similar to today's penguins. Triassic-Cretaceous (235- 66 MYA). Piece created as part of an illustration portfolio of dinosaurs and other prehistoric animals. Oil on board, 16 x 24".
