Albertosaurus libratus
Albertosaurus libratus, also known as Gorgosaurus, was a relative of Tyrannosaurus rex. With its sleek build and long hind limbs, it was one of the fastest runners among the tyrannosaurids. Late Cretaceous. This piece was originally created as a portfolio piece of dinosaurs and depicts a yearling Albertosaurus chasing Gallornis sp. ( a flamingo-like precursor) across the flood plains of prehistoric North America. Oil on board, 12.5 x 27".
