Brown Trout

Brown Trout

Brown trout also called German Brown Trout (Salmo trutta) are a prized and wary European game fish that have been widely transplanted because of their ability to thrive in warmer waters than most trout. It grows to about 3.6 kilograms (8 pounds). Ocean-going individuals, called sea trout, are larger than freshwater forms and provide good sport, as do those that enter large lakes. This was painted for the 1999 Kentucky Trout Stamp Contest and placed third. Oil on board, 6.5 x 9".
